Aussie Lingo - an edited video

Hello!

I know I've been VERY slack on updating this blog, and even worse about making the posts short and sweet.

I had an extremely wonderful Australian tour with my mom recently. 3 weeks of Sydney, the outback, Tasmania, and back to Sydney. I know mom is anxiously awaiting my first to last blogs of our adventures, but I regret to say I haven't even started yet!

However, I don't feel to guilty. I've been home for less than a week.... home - as in Thames, New Zealand, with my partner Dave and his two adorable cats (and currently one house mate - also named David). I've been vaguely busy since arriving home - unpacking (though organizing is taking me ages), visiting Kathy's (nearly mum-in-law) school class, wandering around town setting up bank accounts and library cards - etc etc etc.

Before mom left Australia, I sent her home with SD memory cards full of our pictures and videos. However, I forgot to send her home with one very special video. I edited a clip of my mom doing a tree top "hangglide" in Tasmania. It cracked me up to no end how fast the operator talked, and loved how difficult it was to understand him. I made this clip for my mom's coworker, so I was annoyed I forgot to send her home with it (we hadn't even hit the 4 bottles of wine yet!).

Anyhow - I hope a few of you find this clip as funny as I do. I run it through twice - once with the original (including my translations) and a second time focusing on how funny the Aussie sounds. The video isn't broke - I've just repeated the Aussie queries several time in a row to give the viewer a chance to figure them out.

I'll try to get another post next week - if not for myself, then for my mom..... Love you mom!
